One week until "All In Her Head" is out!
Book launch, book signings, and other news
First, an apology that it’s taken about a month to send out a newsletter. I didn’t anticipate how overwhelming it would feel in the weeks leading up to the book launch, and my time and capacity to write has been curtailed. My day job is also Busy with a capital “B,” so I’ve been spending free moments escaping my anxiety by reading (sharing a few titles I’ve enjoyed down below).
This past week has been exciting, as many stores received my books early and are already displaying them on shelves. It’s so surreal to walk into a bookstore and see it! My friend
and I did an amazing indie bookstore tour on Saturday and visited six of Ottawa’s local independent bookstores. If you’ve received the book and are enjoying it, please consider leaving me a review on Goodreads, Amazon, or wherever you purchased the book. Library reviews are amazing too! I’m personally using Storygraph these days, which is a great alternative to Goodreads.
I wanted to share a bit more about where you can find me in the coming weeks, and then I’ll be back with our latest book pick for the Mental Health Reading Challenge (yes, it’s supposed to be end of April and I’m going to be late!!)

Flora’s Walk
Flora’s lifelong dream was to be a mother. At 44 years old, after years of fertility treatments, Flora, a single mom by choice of Toronto, Ontario, finally and happily became pregnant. Due to undiagnosed and untreated postpartum psychosis, Flora tragically passed away two months after baby Amber was born.
This is the 3rd annual Flora’s Walk for perinatal mental health, organized by the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative. While the official walk is May 1, many communities are doing walks throughout month of May. You’ll find me and All In Her Head at the Kanata Walk, where I’ll be speaking about my own journey with perinatal mental illness.
Where: Rooted Family Wellness Centre, 30 Edgewater St. Kanata, Ontario
When: Saturday, May 25, 10am - 12pm
If you would like to donate, please find my fundraising page here. 75% will go towards community programming and 25% will go towards the advocacy efforts of the CPMHC.
